Environmental portraiture has nothing to do with the environment as a social interest. It is a broad term meaning the photograph is not just of a person, it is about them. And that is communicated by including context in the imagery, to emphasize who they are and what they are about.
These images are for everyone, but not everyone is for these images. Portraits demand a kind of intention and focus on detail. The person who wants a portrait, wants to say something beyond a typical headshot.
